Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.
Today's question is:
Jake walks through Magnatech's insurance claim process and emphasizes how little the customer has to do. Most people first call the shop to confirm the glass is available and schedule the work, then decide to use insurance. Although the shop cannot open a claim on the customer's behalf, the customer makes a quick call to their insurer to start one and requests Magnatech by name, citing its local presence and strong reviews. The insurer then calls the shop with the customer on the line, verifies details, and asks Magnatech to accept the claim and rates before sending a referral email. From that referral, the shop handles the rest, taking the necessary information and billing the insurer directly after completing the replacement.
It's actually pretty simple. If you want to start a claim to get your glass replaced, most people begin by calling us, seeing if we can get the glass and when we can do it. Once we agree on that, they say, “Okay, I want to use my insurance.” Now, we can't set the claim up for you, but a quick call to your insurance company does it: you say, “Hey, I'd like to create a claim, I want to get my glass replaced, and I want to use Magnatech Autoglass because they're local and they have really good reviews.” That insurance company will then call me with the customer on the line, once they've asked enough questions to verify everything. Once the claim's created, they call us: “Do you accept these rates? Do you accept this claim?” We tell them yes, and they send us a referral. Once we get that referral email, we can handle everything from there. So after the customer creates the claim, that's really all they have to do; we take the information from the referral and bill the insurer directly.
