Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.
Today's question is:
Is it true that Teslas have 47 different windshield versions? So, it's not true. There are definitely a lot of windshields for Teslas. I mean, each model has about god, eight or nine different options for it. It's gotten into some some trouble. Some of them look so close that it's one feature that's just off on the other one and boom, you got to go replace it, go get the new part, and then they get quite expensive. So, it's definitely one thing that you have to watch carefully when you're going to replace cuz some of them can be really close to each other but still be wrong.
Magnatech Autoglass clarified that rain cannot make a windshield crack explode, as chips usually penetrate only the first layer of the two-layered laminated glass (00:10:55). They insisted that they will always recalibrate the ADAS camera after a windshield replacement to OEM specifications, even if a customer claims they do not use it, considering it a mandatory safety and liability measure (00:11:58). Teslas have many different windshield versions—about eight or nine options per model—which requires careful attention during replacement (00:18:08).
