Hey folks! This is Jake from Magnatech Auto Glass.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"My kid licked the window tint, will it cause damage?"

Answer:

Most tint companies out there make a quality product where saliva is not going to affect it. As far as the look of it—that’s all on you guys. But as far as it affecting the tint, you’re good to go.

So the tint itself isn’t going to fail because of saliva. Modern tint films are built to handle normal life stuff—cleaning, moisture, and basic contact. If there are streaks or smears, that’s a cosmetic cleaning issue, not a “the tint is ruined” issue. So from a performance standpoint, you’re fine. Just clean it appropriately and you’re back to normal.

Summary:

Saliva won’t damage quality window tint. It may leave a visible smear that needs cleaning, but it won’t affect the tint’s function or durability.
