Hey folks! This is Jake from Magnatech Auto Glass.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"When a customer books mobile service, what happens from the moment your van pulls up to when you drive away?"

Summary:

Jake explains that every mobile job starts with verifying the glass. Magnatech uses a VIN decoder to identify the correct windshield, but the technicians never begin removal until they have physically compared the new part against the customer's existing glass. After knocking on the door, they walk the customer out to the vehicle, confirm the match, and give a realistic time frame of about forty-five minutes to an hour. From there, most customers simply hand over their keys and let the team work. The emphasis is on confirming the right part before starting, which prevents mistakes and keeps the appointment efficient from arrival to drive-away.

Answer:

The first thing we're going to do is double-check the windshield. We try to get as close as we can by using a VIN decoder to choose the right windshield, but you never want to start on it unless you've verified that it's the right one. So that's the first thing we do when we knock on your door: you come out, we take you out to the car, and we compare our part to yours. Once we've verified everything, we just give you a time frame: look, it'll be forty-five minutes to an hour. And then most people just toss us the keys and we do the job. That verification step matters, because the worst thing you can do is start pulling a windshield before you're sure the new glass is the exact match for that vehicle. Once we know it's right, the actual replacement is straightforward and we keep it moving.
